Hi! I'm Nick Lowe, Note Lore curator and your guide through the labyrinths of note-taking, personal knowledge management, and the worlds of continuous learning.
I used to be an academic editor for two decades while running multiple educational websites. I now steer my ship through the vast oceans of blogging and podcasting. My life has been a relentless pursuit of knowledge, and that which I've acquired I will try my very best to share with you, via the unique notes that I've collected on a wide variety of topics over the last three decades.
The Great Leap
Why did I swap my academic quill for a blogger's keyboard? Simple. It was time to challenge myself and avoid stagnation in a field that is slow to change. So I left the halls of academia and dove headfirst into the content creation jungle. The transition from academic editing to professional blogging wasn't just a change of scenery – it was my moon landing moment. This blog is my Apollo 11 if you will, a vessel crafted to navigate the uncharted territories of personal development, writing mastery, and life-hacking wizardry via an art I've long admired: the art of note-taking. You're all invited along for the ride ;)
Philosophy: The Note Lore Doctrine
My mantra? Knowledge + Action = Magic. Think of it like peanut butter and jelly – good on their own, but together, they become something more. Essentially I believe in the lasting power of learning, followed by the sorcery of doing.
This blog isn't just about how to stuff your brain with facts; it's about transforming those facts into actionable content that you can build on to develop a better you.
So What's in Store at Note Lore?
Expect the following kaleidoscope of content:
- Note-taking tips and tricks
- Best study practices
- How to leverage AI to enhance your learning and personal development
- self-help book reviews on the art of learning that aim to be more gripping than an Agatha Christie novel
- productivity hacks that would make a sloth sprint
- learning tips on how to learn that would put Yoda to shame.
- Writing tips gleaned from a lifetime of editing content for publication.
- I'm also your go-to critic for productivity apps and note-taking software – think of me as the Simon Cowell of the tech world, but nicer and with less high-waisted pants ;)
- Humorous life anecdotes and motivational quotes. My posts are sprinkled with attempted humor, but marinated in sincerity and served up with a side of empathy.
- Notes on miscellaneous knowledge I've gathered over the years that might tickle your fancy.
In a Nutshell
Ultimately this blog is more than just words on a screen – it's supposed to be a manifesto, a movement, a revolution in thinking. We're all on a quest to be the best versions of ourselves, not just for today but for the epic journey ahead, right? So grab your metaphorical backpacks, and let's set off on this adventure of self-discovery and relentless improvement. We're not just growing our stores of knowledge; we're evolving our minds– and that, my friends, is what it's all about.
To infinite knowledge and beyond,
Nick
